Voting System & Governance

PiggyVerse operates as a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) where members participate in governance through a transparent voting system.

Overview

Our governance system ensures that all stakeholders have a voice in shaping the future of PiggyVerse while maintaining the stability and integrity established by our Constitution.

Voting Information

All governance proposals are subject to a minimum 7-day voting period to ensure adequate time for community review and deliberation.

Voting Power Distribution

Voting power in PiggyVerse is determined by multiple factors to ensure fair representation:

Base Voting Power

🗳️Token-Based Voting

Members receive voting power based on their PIGGY token holdings:

  • 1 PIGGY token = 1 vote (for standard proposals)
  • Quadratic voting applies to certain high-impact decisions
  • Delegated voting is permitted with transparent delegation tracking

Clan Multipliers

Clan-Editable Section
Governance Committee

Clan membership provides additional voting weight based on contribution and participation:

  • Active contributor: 1.1x multiplier
  • Clan leader: 1.2x multiplier
  • Multi-clan member: Cumulative bonuses capped at 1.5x

These multipliers reward engaged community members while preventing excessive centralization.

Constitutional Safeguards

  • Blocking proposals that violate the Constitution
  • Preventing malicious governance attacks
  • Protecting minority rights

Historical usage: 0 vetoes to date. This power exists as a deterrent, not a tool for regular use.

💎 Poiki holds 1,000,000 votes as a constitutional safeguard. This power is used sparingly to protect core values.

Voting Best Practices

🗳️Informed Participation

We encourage all members to:

  • Read proposals thoroughly before voting
  • Engage in discussion to understand implications
  • Consider minority perspectives and edge cases
  • Vote based on merit, not tribalism
  • Delegate responsibly if unable to participate actively

Delegation System

Members can delegate their voting power to trusted representatives:

  • Transparent delegation: All delegations are publicly visible
